Role

The role of the Transition to College-Led Training Advisory Committee (TCLTAC) is to:

  • Provide advice to the Australian Government on the transition of the Australian General Practice Training (AGPT) Program to a 'College-led model'. Areas of consideration will include:
    • ensuring the continuation of high quality training
    • supervisor and practice support arrangements, systems and models
    • building the attractiveness of GP training to current and prospective future registrars.
  • Provide advice on options to maintain continuity for registrars currently training in the AGPT, and ensure transition is as seamless as possible.
  • Provide advice on implementation arrangements, timelines and any identified risks.
  • Provide advice on the development of an evaluation framework for Australian Government supported GP training programs.

Meetings

The TCLTAC will meet monthly via videoconference. The group will be established for an initial period of 18 months, until April 2022.

Related committees

The long-standing General Practice Training Advisory Committee (GPTAC) will continue to provide advice on GP training issues, and will also provide a forum to test the models developed by the TCLTAC with the wider GP training stakeholder group.
