Our committees and groups provide a way for people and organisations to help us develop policies and provide advice on specific issues.
The Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Advisory Group on COVID-19 provides culturally appropriate advice to the Department of Health, including for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health services and communities about COVID-19.
The Health Services Data Advisory Group (HS DAG) advises us on Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health data. It also contributes to the development and continuous improvement of the Health Data Portal, which collects key data.
The Advisory Committee for the COVID-19 Response for People with Disability provides advice to the Chief Medical Officer about the needs of people with disability during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Advisory Committee on Vaccines (ACV) provides independent medical and scientific advice to the Minister for Health and the Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA).
The Aged Care Advisory Group advises the Australian Health Protection Principal Committee about aged care policy related to COVID-19. It brings together expertise about the aged care sector, infection control, emergency preparedness and public health response.
ACFA provides independent advice about aged care financing to the Australian Government. It reports every year on the funding and financing of aged care and the operations of ACFA.
The Aged Care Sector Committee provides advice on aged care policy to the Australian Government. The members are from across the aged care sector, including peak bodies, service providers, consumers and the workforce.
The Australian Brain Cancer Mission Strategic Advisory Group advises the government on the research priorities for this Medical Research Future Fund (MRFF) mission.
The Australian Health Protection Principal Committee is the key decision making committee for health emergencies. It is comprised of all state and territory Chief Health Officers and is chaired by the Australian Chief Medical Officer.
The Australian Medical Research Advisory Board (AMRAB) advises the Minister for Health on prioritising spending from the Medical Research Future Fund (MRFF).
The Australian Technical Advisory Group on Immunisation (ATAGI) advises the Minister for Health on the National Immunisation Program (NIP) and other immunisation issues.
The Australian Technical Advisory Group on Immunisation (ATAGI) COVID-19 Working Group provides advice to the Minister for Health on the immunisation program for COVID-19 vaccines as they become available in Australia.
The BreastScreen Australia Clinical Advisory Committee (CAC) provides expert advice to BreastScreen Australia Program managers about clinical issues.
The Cardiovascular Health Mission Expert Advisory Panel advises the government on the research priorities for this Medical Research Future Fund (MRFF) mission.
The Comprehensive Primary Health Care Sustainability Advisory Committee monitors the Indigenous Australians’ Health Programme funding model. The committee then advises us on how it is performing and how we can continue to improve it.
The COVID-19 Arts and Health Advisory Committee (AHAC) provides advice to the Australian Health Protection Principal Committee (AHPPC) and the cultural and creative sector on how to reactivate the sector in a COVIDSafe way.
The COVID-19 Sports and Health Advisory Committee (C19SHAC) assists the Australian Health Protection Principle Committee (AHPPC) in sport related issues or manifestations in the sector as we transition to a COVID-safe Australia.
