  • This panel conducted an independent review of the Hearing Services Program from August 2020 to August 2021. It consulted with hearing care providers as well as people who are hard of hearing, aiming to optimise hearing outcomes for clients.

  • The Life Saving Drugs Program Expert Panel (LSDPEP) considers all applications to list new medicines on the LSDP. The panel assesses medicines, listens to stakeholders, and advises the Chief Medical Officer about listing medicines. It also reviews medicines already on the program.

  • The Medical Workforce Reform Advisory Committee (MWRAC) provides advice to the Australian Government and state and territory health ministers on medical workforce reform priorities.

  • Medicare Benefits Schedule (MBS) Review Advisory Committee (MRAC) guides the work of the MBS Continuous Review, an ongoing review of Medicare items and services carried out by experts on a continuous basis.

  • The MBS Review Taskforce worked from 2015 to 2020 to review more than 5,700 items on the MBS. It consulted over 700 clinicians, consumers and health system experts about adding, amending, removing, and updating MBS items and services. It also recommended broader structural changes to the MBS.

  • The Million Minds Mental Health Research Mission Expert Advisory Panel provides advice to Government on all aspects of this mission, which is funded by the Medical Research Future Fund (MRFF).

It plays a critical role ensuring advice reflects the needs and expectations of senior Australians, their families and carers and the diverse needs of these groups.
