From the first of September 2023, 60-day prescriptions are available for nearly 100 medicines listed on the Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme, or PBS.
The change will happen in three stages over 12 months, with more medicines added at each stage.
By September 2024, the change will apply to more than 300 PBS medicines that have been assessed as safe for 60-day prescriptions, covering a wide range of ongoing health conditions.
Payments for these medicines can be recorded on your prescription record form and count towards your PBS Safety Net.
