More Doctors for Outer Metropolitan Areas Relocation Incentive Grant

The More Doctors for Outer Metropolitan Areas strategy provides financial incentives for doctors to relocate to, or remain in, outer metropolitan areas. It also provides training opportunities for doctors undertaking general practice or specialist training in outer metropolitan areas.

The aim of the strategy is to increase the supply of doctors in outer metropolitan areas.

Important notice:

From 1 July 2013 the More Doctors for Outer Metropolitan Areas Measure Relocation Incentive Grant (RIG) will be administered by selected Medicare Locals. As such the Department of Health and Ageing will not be accepting any new applications from 15 May 2013.

All existing contracts will continue to be managed by the Department. For further information please contact the RIG team at outermetro@health.gov.au.
