Launch of the “Software Developers Resource Centre”
A new vendor portal has been launched by the Department of Health and Ageing (the Department) and National E-Health Transition Authority (NEHTA). Called the Software Developers Resource Centre, it is an important means for communication and sharing of information with software vendors working on the personally controlled electronic health records (eHealth records) system.
To mark the launch of Software Developers Resource Centre, the Department and NEHTA has released the Specifications and Standards Plan. The plan outlines the timeframes and process for the release of specifications and standards for the eHealth records system, set to launch nationally on 1 July 2012.
The specifications for the Event Summary document, a key building block of the eHealth record, have also been released. Specifications for other important components, including Discharge Summaries, the Consolidated View and the Call Centre Service, will be released progressively over the coming weeks.
The resource centre will be regularly updated over time as new documentation becomes available.
Software vendors and developers can access the resource centre.
