Subject Plain Packaging Tobacco
To Whom It May Concern
I am writing in regards to the purposed plain packaging on all cigarette packets.
This is just another sad attempt at treating the general public like idiots. The public has been educated for years on the effect of smoking and should be given the right to make the own minds up.
To resort plain package cigarettes is a slap in the face. It’s telling us if you haven’t got the message yet we’ll force it on you.
As far as I can see this is just a political stunt by labor to look like their doing something constructive.Well it’s not.
All that will happen is that after the first couple weeks the images on the packets will lose their effects and confusion for retailers will be the only remaining thing that will last from this decision.
It’s a bad direction that we’re heading for if the government decides everything that is good and bad for us. This is an argument for freedom of choice us much as anything else.
I am for the current warning’s on packets. However I strongly oppose plain packet’s
Yours Sincerely
Matthew Hutton
