The National Hepatitis C Strategy provides a foundation for national action that will guide Australia’s response to hepatitis C over the next three years.

Officially launched by the Minister for Health and Ageing, the Hon Tony Abbott on 1 July 2005.
The key priority action areas of the new Strategy include:
- Enhancing hepatitis C education and prevention efforts;
- Assisting more people living with hepatitis C to access and stay on the very effective treatments now available; and
- Improving national hepatitis C surveillance.
