Why worry?
More than 1 in 10 Australian’s carry the virus responsible for genital herpes.
Herpes is spread through vaginal, anal and oral sex without a condom, and genital skin-to-skin contact.
The Herpes virus can be spread from the mouth to genitals during oral sex.
Condoms provide some protection, but only protect the skin that is covered. When blisters are present there is a high risk of infection.
