PROTECT YOURSELF IN FIVE WAYS FROM SKIN CANCER

National Skin Cancer Awareness Campaign

Overview of the National Skin Cancer Awareness Campaign

Summer 2009-10 will mark the 4th year of the National Skin Cancer Awareness Campaign.

This year the campaign aims to educate Australian teenagers aged 14-17 years about the seriousness of, and their susceptibility to, skin cancer and increase the adoption and awareness of the five key sun protection behaviours:

  1. Seek shade
  2. Wear sun protective clothing that covers as much of your body as possible
  3. Put on a broad-brimmed hat that shades your face, neck and ears
  4. Wear wrap-around sunglasses
  5. Apply SPF30+ broad spectrum water resistant sunscreen every two hours.
Here you can find out more about the campaign, access campaign materials, and information on skin cancer and find out what steps you can take to protect yourself from the sun this summer.
