About the Information Strategy
The Information Strategy is designed to address the responsibility for the Commission to:- Report on the state of safety and quality in health care;
- Lead and coordinate in the development and dissemination of data standards for safety and quality;
- Actively engage in the e-health agenda to optimise secondary uses of health information to improve safety and quality in health care.
In addition, the Information Strategy provides health information systems and indictor development support for other Commission programs.
The Commission’s Information Strategy is built around four work streams:
- Indicators of safety and quality
- Health information standards for safety and quality
- A hospital patient safety measurement and reporting model
- National arrangements for Clinical Quality Registries
