- ensuring good communication and the use of interpreters, liaison officers and communication aids;
- using vision and hearing aids;
- ensuring pain relief is adequate;
- encouraging activity, such as mobility and ADLs;
- educating client, family and carers;
- relaxation techniques;
- reorientation and reassurance strategies;
