Application processes for MSAC assessments

Who can apply?

Applications can be made by the medical profession, medical industry and others with an interest in seeking Australian government funding for a new medical technology or procedure.

How to apply

Step 1: Organise a Prelodgement Meeting.

Applicants may also wish to refer to Part 3 of the Guidelines, which contain detailed information about how the MSAC will assess the evidence provided in the application.

Applicants should note there are supplementary economic guidelines for section 11 part 2 of the Application Guidelines.

Where necessary applicants should have completed TGA approval before submitting to MSAC.

Over time both the guidelines and format of the application form are expected to evolve based on the experience of and feedback from applicants and the MSAC. For the latest versions of the form and guidelines, applicants should refer to this site.

Applicants should complete all parts of the application form the fullest extent possible before forwarding it, along with any supporting documents, to the MSAC Secretariat.
