I was pleased to see the Queensland Government’s support for the Commonwealth Government funded National HPV Vaccination Program. It is the Commonwealth Government which is paying for the vaccine.
The Commonwealth Government will provide $436.8 million over four years to purchase HPV vaccine for supply under the National Immunisation Program.
I will continue to work with my state and territory colleagues to ensure the successful implementation of this important new initiative. I am pleased Queensland will now be able to meet an April 2007 start to the program.
