Negotiations with Oxenford Medical Centre Pty Ltd to establish the new $7 million GP Super Clinic on the Gold Coast are well advanced.
Following a competitive invitation-to-apply process, Oxenford Medical Centre Pty Ltd has been identified as the preferred applicant to establish the Gold Coast GP Super Clinic and is now negotiating a funding agreement with the Department of Health and Ageing.
“I’m pleased that negotiations are progressing well and I look forward to having more good news for Gold Coast residents once the negotiations are completed,” Ms Roxon said.
“The Gold Coast GP Super Clinic is going to make it easier for local families to see a GP closer to home.
“The Clinic intends to provide a range of services including GPs, nursing and allied health as well as bulk billing for some patients.
“The Gold Coast GP Super Clinic also plans to be a key player in training the next generation of local GPs, nurses and allied health professionals as well as being a site for GP registrar training.
“GP Super Clinics, like the one on the Gold Coast are delivering more health services closer to home for working families.”
The Gillard Government is investing $650 million to build more than 60 GP Super Clinics and invest in more than 400 infrastructure programs in GP clinics around the country. 33 GP Super Clinics are either open, delivering early services or under construction
