The Minister for Sport, Kate Ellis, today announced the reappointment of Jennifer Clark and Nicole Livingstone, OAM, to the Australian Sports Anti-Doping Authority (ASADA).

Both women have been reappointed for a further three-year term.

“Ms Clark’s experience in dealing with anti-doping matters combined with her extensive background in business and finance, spanning both the private and public sectors, is an asset to ASADA,” Ms Ellis said.

“Ms Livingstone was a member of the Australian swimming team from 1985 to 1996. She represented Australia at three Olympic and three Commonwealth games. Her experience as an elite athlete brings important perspectives to ASADA’s deliberation on key issues.”

Ms Livingstone is also a member of the Board of Swimming Australia and chairs the Community Advisory Committee on Body Image for the Victorian Government.

“The Australian Government acknowledges the need for Australia to be at the forefront in the fight against doping in sport,” Ms Ellis said.

“While sporting achievements are a source of national and local pride, doping violates the integrity of sport by undermining the spirit of competition and fair play.

“ASADA plays a central role in implementing Australia’s anti-doping regime. The considerable contribution of talented people like Ms Clark and Ms Livingstone is crucial to ASADA continuing its work.”
