New chair for GPET board
The Minister for Health and Ageing, Tony Abbott, today announced that Dr Simon Willcock will be the new Chairman of General Practice Education and Training (GPET) Ltd.

Dr Simon Willcock will be the new Chairman of General Practice Education and Training (GPET) Ltd. Dr Willcock will take over from Kate Carnell, the inaugural Chair.
The board includes nominees from the major GP stakeholders plus three independent members appointed by the Australian Government. Dr Willcock has already been on the GPET Board for six months as a government appointment.
Dr Willcock either has or continues to hold high level positions in the hospital system, Divisions of General Practice, the local general practice Regional Training Provider, the Australian Medical Council, the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners and the NSW state health department.
Dr Willcock is a senior examiner, senior lecturer and associate dean at the Department of General Practice, Faculty of Medicine, University of New South Wales.
