Profile of The Hon Shayne Neumann MP, Parliamentary Secretary for Health and Ageing, Parliamentary Secretary to the Attorney-General, Federal Member for Blair


Shayne was elected to Federal Parliament on 24 November, 2007 representing the electorate of Blair in Queensland.

He has served as Chair of the Federal ALP Caucus Social Policy Committee and was Chair of the House of Representatives Standing Committee on Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Affairs. He co-convened the bipartisan Parliamentary Friends of Medicines.

On March 25, 2013 Shayne was appointed Parliamentary Secretary for Health and Ageing and Parliamentary Secretary to the Attorney General.

Shayne lives in Ipswich with his wife Carolyn and two daughters Alex and Jacqui.

He is a keen supporter of the Ipswich Jets (QRL) and the Brisbane Broncos (NRL).
