Snowdon Shaves Mo

The Minister for Indigenous Health, Rural and Regional Health and Regional Services Delivery, Warren Snowdon, took advantage of his attendance at the ‘Have a Crack’ Day to shave off his treasured moustache which he had been growing for 40 years. ‘Have a Crack’ Day was organised by Andrology Australia to focus attention on and raise funds for men’s health issues.

Training Dentists in Wagga Wagga

The Minister for Rural and Regional Health, Warren Snowdon, toured new School of Dentistry and Health Science at Charles Sturt University in Wagga Wagga. The school comprises two newly finished dental clinics (with 24 chairs in total), a dental simulation laboratory, specialist dental teaching and research facilities, two IT lecture theatres (for 80 students in total), teaching space, support space and public amenities and accommodation.

OzHelp Tradies tune-up launch

The Tradies Tune-Up initiative – supported by $219,500 from the Rudd Government – will monitor and check on the health of building and construction workers. Under the initiative a specially equipped van and accompanying health staff including a registered nurse will set-up ‘pit-stops’ at construction and building sites testing workers in 20 minute sessions on their levels of cholesterol, blood pressure, blood glucose and waist size.
