$5.1 Million for Better Support for Women with Post And Antenatal Depression

The Australian Government will invest $5.1 million over three years to enable four specialist organisations to provide telephone-based support for women experiencing post or antenatal depression, or grief following the loss of a baby that will link to an enhanced 24 hour hotline for pregnant women and new mums.

Caboolture Hospital Receives new ED Infrustructure

The Minister for Health and Ageing, Nicola Roxon, today visited the emergency department at Caboolture Hospital to view plans as part of the hospital’s redevelopment. The $5.2 million investment by the Government will see the construction of five treatment bays and dedicated paediatric space in the ED to improve patient privacy.

Strathpine GP Super Clinic Begins Construction

Construction has started on the Strathpine GP Super Clinic in Brisbane’s outer north. The clinic, to be completed by early 2010, will provide 90 jobs for the Strathpine region during the construction phase and a further 40 during fit-out, stimulating the local economy.
