Appendix 1 has been amended to properly reflect eligibility requirements for items 10950 - 10970. Review item 725 has been added to the Prerequisite for Claiming column of this appendix.

Category 9 Dental Services Schedule - effective 1 November 2007 (PDF 161 KB)
The Medicare dental items for people with chronic conditions and complex care needs are being discontinued. The Medicare dental scheme is now closed to new patients (after 30 March 2008). Patients who commenced dental treatment by 30 March 2008 will be able to continue to receive Medicare benefits for services provided under the items up to and including 30 June 2008, after which the items will be withdrawn from the MBS.

Help with accessing large documents

Click the link with the RIGHT mouse button
Choose "Save Target As.../Save Link As..." depending on your browser
Select an appropriate folder on a local drive to place the downloaded file

Attempting to open large documents within the browser window (by left-clicking) may inhibit your ability to continue browsing while the document is opening and/or lead to system problems.

Help with accessing PDF documents

To view PDF (Portable Document Format) documents, you will need to have the Adobe Acrobat reader installed on your computer. The Adobe Acrobat Reader is available free of charge from Adobe's website.
