The Medicare dental items for people with chronic conditions and complex care needs, are to be discontinued.

The Medicare dental items for people with chronic conditions and complex care needs are to be discontinued. The dental scheme will be closed to new patients after 30 March 2008. Patients who commence treatment by 30 March 2008 will be able to continue to receive Medicare benefits for services provided under the items up to and including 30 June 2008, after which the items will be withdrawn from the MBS.
