Bonded Medical Places (BMP) - Support

There is support available to BMP Scheme participants while they are part of the scheme.

Bonded Support Program

BMP Scheme participants have access to a support program while at university and during their medical training, which is currently managed by the Australian College of Rural and Remote Medicine (ACRRM).

The support program provides BMP Scheme participants with:

  • The opportunity to attend conferences and seminars regarding health issues, particularly relating to practising in outer metropolitan, rural and remote areas
  • Professional, web-based mentoring
  • Regular newsletters and a dedicated website
  • Networking opportunities and
  • Support programs once you complete your university studies.

Accepting a BMP Scheme place does not exclude you from applying for scholarships that may be available. This page provides a few links to medical scholarship opportunities.

Support services for rural health graduates

The National Rural Health Students' Network (NRHSN) provides assistance, support, information and advocacy for rural health graduates.

Under the Network there are the:

  • National Rural Health Students' Network Forums that will assist you to explore all the latest issues surrounding rural health
  • Graduate Assistance and Partnership Program (GAPP) that provides support, information and advocacy for rural graduates and other programs.
