The Commonwealth Government has announced, as part of the 2015 Budget, that the Rural Australia Medical Undergraduate Scholarship (RAMUS) is closed to new entrants.

The Rural Australia Medical Undergraduate Scholarship (RAMUS) scheme was a scholarship program for medical students from a rural background who have a demonstrated financial need and commitment to rural practice.

The aim of the RAMUS Scheme was to increase the number of students with a rural background who enter and complete their study of medicine (undergraduate or graduate entry) at the tertiary level.

RAMUS was administered by the National Rural Health Alliance. Further information can be found on the Rural Australia Medical Undergraduate Scholarship (RAMUS) website.
