Nurse Practitioner Scholarship Scheme

The 20 nurse practitioner scholarships, announced on 28 October 2008, will be for up to $15,000 for two years to upgrade skills to practise as nurse practitioners.

The scholarships have a particular emphasis on increasing the availability of nurse practitioners in rural and remote settings and in areas of such need as aged care, mental health, women's and men's health, and drug and alcohol health care.

These scholarships are available through the Royal College of Nursing Australia (RCNA). Application forms are available on the RCNA website. The closing date for applications was 5 December 2008.
