This page contains links to the Annual Trachoma Surveillance Reports from 2006 to 2009. The Reports are prepared by the National Trachoma Surveillance and Reporting Unit (NTSRU).

The NTSRU, established in November 2006, has been contracted by the Department of Health and Ageing to report on active trachoma in Australia annually.

The Reports contain data from regions identified as potentially ‘at risk’ of experiencing endemic trachoma in the Northern Territory, South Australia and Western Australia. Aboriginal children aged 1 to 9 years old were examined for active trachoma using the World Health Organization’s simplified grading system.
