The Regulatory Reform Unit within the Department's Best Practice Regulation Branch supports and promotes regulatory performance across the Health portfolio. The Unit provides strategic direction and guidance to support the implementation of the government’s regulatory reform agenda by:

  • supporting the operation of the Ministerial Advisory Council that advises Health Ministers on opportunities to reduce regulation;
  • working with stakeholders to identify regulatory reform initiatives; and
  • reporting on progress against the Health portfolio’s efforts towards the Government’s reduction target.
You can contact the Regulatory Reform Unit using the submission form.

The Cutting Red Tape website provides whole of government information about the regulatory reform agenda.
