The State of Our Public Hospitals Report
Under the Australian Health Care Agreements, the Australian Government is responsible for publishing an annual report on the performance of public hospitals in each state and territory. Current and previous editions of the report can be accessed in electronic format from the above link.
The State of Our Public Hospitals, June 2008 Report describes the performance of public hospitals in 2006-07 and includes a focus on Indigenous Australians in hospitals and a feature chapter titled State and Territory Public Hospital Performance Reporting.
The state of our public hospitals, June 2007 report describes the performance of public hospitals in 2005-06 and includes a focus on older Australians in hospitals.
The state of our public hospitals, June 2006 report describes the performance of public hospitals in 2004-05 and includes a focus on public hospitals in rural and remote areas.
The state of our public hospitals, June 2005 report describes the performance of public hospitals in 2003-04 and includes detailed comparisons between public and private hospitals.
The state of our public hospitals, June 2004 report provides a five year overview of how our public hospitals performed during the 1998-2003 Australian Health Care Agreements (data from 1 July 1998 to 30 June 2003).
