Review of Policies, Procedures and Guidelines for Point-of-Care Testing (PoCT)

Royal College of Pathologist of Australasia Quality Assurance Programs

The purpose of this project was to conduct an investigation into what external quality assurance mechanisms and benchmarks for PoCT are in use worldwide. This involved an extensive literature review, including the review of policies and practices existing in other jurisdictions such as the USA and UK. The Royal College of Pathologists of Australasia Quality Assurance Programs, in consultation with other interested parties, reviewed the information collected to access the minimum requirements to define appropriate external quality assurance procedures.
