New MBS/ARTG Assessment Process
As a result of the implementation of the HTA Review, in particular concurrent assessment, applications to the Prostheses List can now be made without an MBS/ARTG number. To better manage this process the PLAC have agreed to the following:
• All applications recommended for listing pending MBS and/or ARTG will only be assessed by the PLAC once the MBS and/or ARTG listing is received.
• All applications will be assessed by the CAG/PoCE clinicians as per standard process.
However, all applications not recommended for listing will be assessed by the PLAC at the next available meeting.
Superior Clinical Performance Requirements
The PLAC at its 7 September 2011 meeting agreed to the Superior Clinical Performance (SCP) evidence requirements (Attachment A) (PDF 11 KB).The SCP evidence requirements were circulated to sponsors on 5 October 2011 to assist in future SCP applications.
Conflict of Interest - Audit
As previously advised in PLAC Bulletin #3 the PLAC have now reviewed all identified conflicts of interest from CAG and PoCE members. These declarations have been individually assessed and dealt with accordingly.A process is now in place to review and manage all new conflict of interests received.
