Page last updated: 08 June 2017

Following the closure of the Advisory Panel on the Marketing in Australia of Infant Formula (APMAIF) in November 2013, a new model for managing complaints in relation to the Marketing in Australia of Infant Formula: Manufacturers and Importers Agreement (MAIF Agreement) was developed by the St James Ethics Centre (now the Ethics Centre), an independent not-for-profit organisation, in consultation with the Department of Health, the Infant Nutrition Council and other key stakeholders. The independent MAIF Complaints Tribunal was appointed by The Ethics Centre and has been fully operational since December 2014.
