Workforce Advisory Committee
The Workforce Advisory Committee provides expert advice to the Pathology Agreement Advisory Committee.
The Workforce Advisory Committee (WAC) advises the PAAC on strategies for developing and maintaining an integrated and sustainable national pathology workforce capable of providing safe and effective pathology services by:
- developing strategies for identifying, capturing and monitoring relevant data to enable effective analysis of the laboratory workforce;
- identifying opportunities to pursue workforce reform and capacity-building strategies that will promote the development of a competent and flexible workforce in a rapidly changing clinical environment;
- analysing current service provision by pathology discipline and developing likely future demand scenarios; and
- estimating likely supply requirements for each pathology workforce grouping and implementing strategies to achieve adequate supply capacity.
