Finance Advisory Committee
The Finance Advisory Committee provides expert advice to the Pathology Agreement Advisory Committee.
The Finance Advisory Committee (FAC) provides advice to PAAC on management of outlays and costs for pathology Medicare Benefits Schedule rebates. It includes business representatives from the pathology sector.
The Finance Advisory Committee will work with the Department to develop a more transparent mechanism for setting and reviewing schedule fees for Pathology Service Table items, based on better cost information, such as direct costs of individual tests, the indirect costs related to providing tests, the costs of collection, and the professional medical and scientific time required to be spent on providing tests.
