3.7.1 Community
Less than one in ten (8%) Australians had heard of National Palliative Care Week. Among the few who had heard of the event, one in five (17%) recalled promotion through newspaper articles and one in ten (12%) recalled hearing about it on television.Few Australians were aware of National Palliative Care Week. The most commonly recalled feature of the event was newspaper articles.
3.7.2 Providers
Awareness of National Palliative Care Week was high among palliative care providers, with over nine in ten aware of the event. However, a substantial proportion (37%) did not take part in National Palliative Care Week activities.Figure 25: Awareness and participation in palliative care week
