Information for GPs

This page provides information on Ebola virus disease for GPs.

Page last updated: 23 February 2018

Please note: The following resources for general practitioners were developed in response to the 2014-16 West Africa Ebola virus outbreak. These documents remain available here for general guidance and context, but contain out-of-date references to the outbreak and should not be considered current.

GPs and other practice staff should be alert to the possibility of Ebola in unwell travellers returning from affected areas of Africa: Guinea, Sierra Leone and Liberia in West Africa, or the Democratic Republic of the Congo; and obtain a full travel and exposure history.
