Obesity Guidelines
Clinical Practice Guidelines for the Management of Overweight and Obesity in Adults
These guidelines for adults are the result of a comprehensive assessment of the current scientific evidence. They provide detailed evidence-based guidance for assessing and managing overweight and obesity in Australia. They also highlight important health concerns associated with overweight and obesity and, through the provision of clinical practice information for at-risk groups, aim to improve health outcomes for people with conditions such as diabetes, cardiovascular disease and some cancers. The evidence has been reviewed in detail up to January 2002. After review of the document by stakeholders, only key additional references to March 2003 have been added, in order to expedite the process of publication.
