Part 4.2, section 56-1(l) of the Act, specifically Schedule 1 of the User Rights Principles 1997, Charter of residents’ rights and responsibilities where it states that residents have the right:
a) to receive quality care appropriate to his or her needs;
b) to full information about his or her own state of health and about available treatments; and
c) to live in a safe, secure and homelike environment, and to move freely both within and outside the residential care service without undue restriction.

Quality of Care Principles 1997

Part 4.1, section 54-1(1)(a) of the Act which requires approved providers to provide such care and services as are specified in the Quality of Care Principles 1997. Specifically, Schedule 1, Part 3, Item 3.8 of the Quality of Care Principles 1997 requires the approved provider to provide nursing services for residents receiving a high level of residential care. These include initial and on-going assessment, planning and management of care for residents, carried out by a registered nurse.

Part 4.1, section 54-1(1)(a) of the Act which requires approved providers to provide such care and services as are specified in the Quality of Care Principles 1997. Specifically, Schedule 1, Part 2, Item 2.7 of the Quality of Care Principles 1997 requires the approved provider to provide to all residents who need it, assistance in obtaining health practitioner services.

Part 4.1, section 54-1(1)(a) of the Act which requires approved providers to provide such care and services as are specified in the Quality of Care Principles 1997. Specifically, Schedule 1, Part 2, Item 2.1(e) of the Quality of Care Principles 1997, requires the provision of assistance with daily living activities to all residents who need it. This includes personal assistance, including individual attention, individual supervision, and physical assistance with moving, walking, wheelchair use and using devices and appliances designed to aid mobility. This includes the fitting of artificial limbs and other personal mobility aids.
