Summary of the NATSIHP consultation in Perth
The consultations for the National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Plan (the Health Plan) are currently underway. This page will be updated with the latest news and highlights from the consultations as they progress.
Perth
The community consultation in Perth was held on Tuesday, 11 December 2012. Over 65 members of the community, health and other service sector from Perth and surrounds, including as far away as the Goldfields, participated in the consultation session. The key themes raised included education and health workforce attraction and retention which are critical in the regional and remote areas of Western Australia, as is the availability of outreach programs providing a range of holistic health services, including mental health and allied health care. Participants also emphasised the importance of providing inclusive and culturally safe services within the family and community context across the entire life-cycle.Program/Initiatives
