Maningrida
Over 100 members of the Maningrida community attended a consultation in their community on Friday 5 October. The Minister was welcomed with a traditional welcoming ceremony and words from the traditional owners. The points raised at the consultation centred around how the availability of health and other services within the community, particularly for the early years, can have a positive impact on community functioning and the social wellbeing of individuals and families. Another theme was how positive change can happen when supported by a dedicated allied health workforce, such as the community has seen with the aged care facility which many members of the community noted was culturally respectful, staffed by a dedicated workforce and well regarded by Maningrida's residents and traditional owners.
