E1 - Medicare Electorate Reports (2004 Boundaries)

The Commonwealth Department of Health and Ageing and Medicare Australia published Medicare bulk billing and safety nets statistics, by Commonwealth Electoral Division [based on 2004 electorate boundaries], in early April 2007.

The bulk billing statistics show -
    The number and percentage of non-referred (GP) attendances bulk billed by Commonwealth Electoral Division, based on claims processed by Medicare Australia in calendar years 2004, 2005 and 2006.

The Medicare safety nets statistics show for 2005 and 2006 (calendar years of processing) –
    The number of singles who had a claim processed for benefits under the Safety Nets, and the number of people who are in a family unit where at least one member of the family had a claims processed under the Safety Nets.
    The number of singles who had a claim processed for benefits under the Safety Nets.
    The number of families where at least one member had a claim processed under the Safety Nets.
    The number of singles and the number of members of families who had a claim processed under the Safety Nets.
    Total benefits under the Safety Nets, based on claims processed.
