Indigenous Health Division

The Indigenous Health Division aims to improve access for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people to effective health care services essential to improving health and life expectancy and reducing child mortality.

Indigenous Health Division’s (IHD) approach recognises that long-term partnerships are required to achieve sustainable gains in health status. Although many initiatives are coordinated through IHD, all programmes within the Department have a responsibility to facilitate the provision of high quality coordinated clinical care, population health and health promotion activities for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Australians.

The Division comprises:
