Health Technology Assessment Review
Consumer Participation in the Review of Health Technology Assessment
Progress Report 2, 24 November 2009
The Department of Health and Ageing contracted the Consumers’ Health Forum of Australia (CHF) to ensure comprehensive consumer input to the HTA Review.
The first phase of the project was a teleconference with CHF senior consumer representatives familiar with HTA in Australia to identify issues particular to consumers. In the second phase of the project, CHF held a facilitated workshop with key consumer representatives to explore future policy options in relation to HTA, including consumer involvement. Progress Report 2 summarises the key discussion points and outcomes of the workshop.
The report is written from a consumer perspective. It outlines consumer opinions, concerns and suggestions raised with the CHF in its consultations.
