Contracted Service Providers
A Contracted Service Provider is an entity which has a signed contract with the Office of Hearing Services (the Office) to provide hearing service to eligible clients under the Australian Government Hearing Services Program (the Program). All entities will go through an accreditation process in order to be offered a Contract.
How to become a Contracted Service Provider
If you would like to become a Contracted Service Provider who is able to provide hearing services to eligible clients under the Australian Government Hearing Services Program (the Program) you must first be accredited by the Office of Hearing Services (the Office). How about the following instead?The Office has an accreditation process for all entities prior to being offered a contract to provide services under the Program. Important Note to Applicants
The Office is currently preparing to implement a new online portal – the Hearing Services Online project. Hearing Services Online (HSO) will transform the way Service Providers and clients interact with the Office, allowing clients to apply for services and Service Providers to manage their sites and clients online.The portal is expected to commence operations from mid-May 2013. In the lead up, no new Service Provider Contracts will be entered into while user acceptance testing and data migration into the new system takes place. The offer of Service Provider Contracts will re-commence following the release of the new online portal. This may affect new applications for accreditation received after 1 March 2013.

Obligations as a Contracted Service Provider
As a Contracted Service Provider you are required to adhere to all of the clauses of the contract, and the associated standards. All service providers may be audited.How to make an electronic claim
The Office in partnership with Medicare Australia, has developed a web-based electronic claiming (e-claiming) facility that allows Contracted Service Providers to lodge electronic claims for payments via the internet. The e-claim facility is designed to ensure that all parties – service providers, the Office and Medicare Australia – are able to reliably track and process all claims received electronically through the e-claim facility.How to make a manual claim
Manual claims are claims that cannot be paid by Medicare Australia, such as, spare aid fittings and alternative listening device fittings, or where the clients claim history is incomplete.Frequently Asked Questions

Your Obligations as a Contracted Service Provider.
As a Contracted Service Provider providing hearing services to eligible clients under the Australian Government Hearing Services Program (the Program), you have signed a detailed Contract with the Commonwealth Government.It is important to understand the obligations you have to the Program under this Contract, and to have appropriate documentation in place to be able to support these obligations.
The Office recommends that you / encourages you to read the Service Provider Contract so you have an understanding of your obligations under the Program.

Help with accessing large documents
When accessing large documents (over 500 KB in size), it is recommended that the following procedure be used:

To view PDF (Portable Document Format) documents, you will need to have a PDF reader installed on your computer. A number of PDF readers are available through the Australian Government Information Management Office (AGIMO) Web Guide website.
