Call For Submissions – Australian Hospital Patient Costing Standards For The National Hospital Cost Data Collection
The Department of Health and Ageing (the Department) on behalf of the Interim Independent Hospital Pricing Authority (Interim IHPA) is calling for submissions on recommended changes to Versions 1.1 and 2.0 of the Australian Hospital Patient Costing Standards (the Costing Standards).
Interested private sector parties, such as private and private day hospitals, are invited to provide written submissions outlining areas of improvement and refinement to the Costing Standards.
All submissions will be responded to in writing and a summary document will be produced outlining the response to each submission. Whole or parts of submissions which are requested to be treated as confidential will not be released.
The timing for the submission process and subsequent release of the Costing Standards Version 3.0 is

|15 and 16 February||National Hospital Cost Data Collection Technical Working Group meet to consider submissions|
|15 March 2012||Public document with responses to submissions released|
|30 March 2012||Version 3.0 of the Costing Standards released|
|1 July 2012||Prospective implementation of any standards requiring changes to hospital systems for 2012 – 13|
