Private Health Insurer Code Changes

From 1 July 2011, The Doctors’ Health Fund Limited fund code will change from AMA to DHF.

This change applies to all aspects of the business for which a fund code is required. This includes among other things, transactions with hospitals, and data submissions to Medicare Australia, the Department of Heath and Ageing, the State Health Authorities and the Australian Taxation Office.

Hospitals submitting HCP data to The Doctors’ Health Fund Limited will need to use this new Fund code as from 1 July 2011.

Insurers should also notify the Private Health Insurance Administration Council and the Private Health Insurance Ombudsman of any proposals to make ex gratia payments to members.
