Review of the National Hospital Cost Data Collection (NHCDC) Consultation
The purpose of this Circular is to invite all those with an interest in the NHCDC to attend a workshop at the end of January as part of the NHCDC review (reference previous circular PHI 02/08).The NHCDC is currently under review by KPMG. The review will consider public and the private sector, costing methodology and cost data collection processes to ensure that the collection remains timely, valid, robust and reliable. Further, the review will consider non-admitted (emergency department and outpatient) activity in the public and private sectors and ways to improve this component of the data collection.
Workshops will be conducted as follows:
Melbourne on Wednesday 30th January at the Hilton, Melbourne Airport; or
Sydney on Thursday 31st January at the Stamford Plaza, Sydney Airport.
The workshops will commence at 10 am and finish at 3pm.

Once individuals and organisations have acknowledged their attendance, a written survey will by distributed by KPMG prior to the workshops. Stakeholders are encouraged to provide feedback and submit comments on how the collection can be improved. Help with accessing large documents
When accessing large documents (over 500 KB in size), it is recommended that the following procedure be used:

may inhibit your ability to continue browsing while the document is
opening and/or lead to system problems.
Help with accessing PDF documents
To view PDF (Portable Document Format) documents, you will need to have a PDF reader installed on your computer. A number of PDF readers are available through the Australian Government Information Management Office (AGIMO) Web Guide website.
