Pharmaceutical Benefits Pricing Authority Policies, Procedures and Methods
Outlines the processes employed by the Pharmaceutical Benefits Pricing Authority in recommending prices for pharmaceuticals to the Minister.
The purpose of this document is to enhance the transparency of the processes employed by the Pharmaceutical Benefits Pricing Authority in recommending prices for pharmaceuticals to the Minister. This document clarifies methods and procedures used by the Pricing Authority when recommending the listing price of new drugs and in the review of prices of existing drugs on the Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme. The Procedures paper complements the latest Pricing Authority Annual Report and should be read in conjunction with this report.

Help with accessing large documents

installed on your computer. The Adobe Acrobat Reader is available free
of charge from Adobe's
website.
