The Pathology Workforce Workshop 2011

The Pathology Workforce Workshop was held in Sydney on 22 June 2011. There was representation from a number of different professional bodies and organisations involved in the provision and planning of pathology services. The purpose of the workshop was to inform stakeholders of the workforce work completed to date and to provide the opportunity for discussion of key issues for the specialist and scientific workforce. The report titled The Pathology Workforce Workshop summarises the presentations and discussions from the day.

Final Project Report: Career Structures and Pathways for the Scientific Workforce in Medical Pathology Laboratories 2011

This report provides an analysis of the scientific workforce in Australia's medical pathology laboratories, including consideration of current and proposed workforce reform strategies that have been explored in Australia and overseas. The report identifies a series of opportunities and constraints for promoting further workforce reform to meet pathology service demand.

National Survey of Pathology Workforce 2010

This report encapsulates the results of a 2010 snapshot survey of the workforce in public and private medical pathology testing laboratories throughout Australia. The report provides an insight into the structure of the current national pathology workforce. It is expected this information may assist all jurisdictions and professional groups in assessing and addressing pathology workforce requirements for future service demand.

The Australian Pathology Workforce Crisis 2008

A report by Michael Legg and Associates to the Australian Government Department of Health and Ageing - October 2008. The report sets out the scope and structure of the pathology industry workforce and draws together a summary of the key issues, gaps and opportunities for further work to be undertaken on this issue.
