Pathology Services Table (PST)
The Pathology Services Table (PST) lists the pathology tests for which Medicare benefits are available, their Schedule fees and conditions for use.
The PST is Category 6 of the Medicare Benefits Schedule (MBS) Book and relates specifically to the pathology services arrangements under Medicare. The MBS is updated throughout the year to reflect new regulations or amendments.
The Pathology Services Table Committee provides advice on the PST and is currently being re-established as an expert clinical advisory committee with members being sought from the various pathology disciplines, requesting practitioners and other relevant groups.
