The Requirements for Gynaecological (Cervical) Cytology (Second Edition 2014) sets out the minimum requirements for best practice in relation to the operation of gynaecological services for using conventional methods as well as liquid based collection systems and semi-automated screening devices.

This document combines the previous two documents - Requirements for Gynaecological (Cervical)Cytologyand Guidelines for the Use of Liquid Based Collection Systems and Semi-Automated Screening Devices in the Practice of Gynaecological (Cervical) Cytology.


This document has the proposed date of effect of 1 June 2014.
